It’s the Month of Leo! (23 July – 22 August) Are you a Leo girl or do you know someone who is? She’s actually kind of a big deal.

Leo personality of females is one of those things I can share without having to scour for words to drive a narration across, because their personas are in fact, pretty much their personalities. I am not a clairvoyant nor a professional psychic by any means; I am just someone who is interested in studying personalities and behaviours of people. I’ve known quite a few Leo ladies in my life and we are still in contact till this day. Here’s what I can share about Leo personality (female) from my own experience.

Leo Female Characteristics

The Leo female characteristics, regardless good or bad, just about lay in plain sight. They can be visibly jealous, egoistic, and lacking self-awareness. Indeed they can be so self-unaware that sometimes it is not that they reject criticisms, but they do not regard criticisms as criticisms. This blindspot stems from the Leo women’s deep passion as well as high self-confidence in any undertakings. Now, confidence is different from esteem. Very often I find my Leo female friends having strong faith in doing one thing, but on hindsight needing the validation from others. The good thing about my Leo ladies is that, they often do things in good faith; rarely do they scheme against or take advantage of others. Leo women are not afraid to let their emotions show, as they tend to be poor in concealing how they feel.

Going back to jealousy, I once was shopping with my Leo girlfriend and the perfume girl at the counter handed me some samples even though my friend was just standing next to me. I thought nothing of it but she made sure her feelings were known afterwards. She said that she felt indignant about not having deserved the same when she was not looking any inferior to me. Leos are known to be big-hearted and into the lavishness of things, but when they smell competition especially where it concerns the societal expectations of things, their egos get set off and sometimes make them appear petty. There was another good Leo female friend of mine, who offered to drive me home after dinner. Thinking that it was late and we do not exactly stay near each other, I declined. Leo being Leo, she insisted to play host right to the end, but along the journey, I could see her getting really uncomfortable being unfamiliar with the route. She made it back home nonetheless and shared her little triumph with me after that, lol. Such is the oxymoron with Leos, they lack self-awareness yet conscious of how others perceive them; they are highly confident of themselves yet apparently insecure.

Leo Female Positive Traits & Attributes

However there are many good traits of a Leo person, and those are kind of a big deal especially when it comes to Leo females who channel these seemingly masculine characteristics. Leo females are unpretentious – what you see is what you get because they are generally strong and bold, and they walk the talk. When they say they would do something, they would fulfil it. They are also deeply caring towards their family and friends, and would go the extra mile to protect them. I had to go on an overseas work trip with a Leo female colleague, and she remains one of my favourite travel mates till date. She would make hot beverages for us as soon as we woke up, and offered medication to me when I was not feeling well even without me asking. She would swop seats with me to ensure I was away from potential hazards in a restaurant, for example. Even though she was only my peer, she basically behaved like the Alpha, and with good reasons. Neither was she attempting to bootlick me nor show me who the boss was, lol. It was her natural protective behaviour and loyalty as a friend that moved me. Such instincts I could only imagine to have inherited from the King of the jungle himself. Befittingly represented by the Lioness of the Leo horoscope sign in this case, Leo females are natural leaders of their packs and tend to take charge; not to mention they are also the ones who bring home the bacon. Courage and Leadership are directly tied to many of their successful achievements in life.

As far I know of my Leo zodiac sign females, they all have big personalities. They are generous, outgoing, extroverted, dependable, and natural born leaders. It is often thought that Leos are the least compatible with other big personality zodiacs like the Scorpio. I would not need to feel guarded when I am around them because even at times when they feel begrudging or bitter, they tend to air it out, and feelings get sorted out just like that. This is what I appreciate about Leo zodiac girls the most; because generally speaking, females tend to be more sensitive and hold back a lot of their true feelings. And this sometimes gives rise to tension and misunderstandings in a relationship.

If you are someone like me who is more than willing to give others the limelight, and able to set aside your ego, then a Leo sister or girlfriend or spouse may be your personality fit.
